Proxy Configurations for Different
Web Browsers
Netscape Navigator
go to Options+Network
Preferences, choose Manual, then fill in
for HTTP, the Location (URL) as
proxy1.turnet.net.trand in the Port column,
put .
Netscape
Communicator 4.X
go to Editon the task bar,
select Preferences, then click on
Advanced(twice!).From there, choose
Proxies and select the Maunual
proxy configurationbullet, then click on View
. Inside, fill in the HTTP option and
Address of proxy to use as
proxy1.turnet.net.tr. and fill in the Port
collumn as
8080. Then its OK, OK,all the way out.
Now test the proxy by going to a test site and watch if the bottom left
corner sais Connect, Contacting...... and the
name of the proxy.
Microsoft Internet Expolorer 5.0
you go
to Tools on the task bar, then
Internet Options , and get inside the
Connections folder. There, choose the
Lan Settings button. In there, mark the
Use a proxy server bullet and fill in the name
of the proxy as proxy1.turnet.net.tr and the
Port is 8080 .
Microsoft Internet Explorer 4.0
go to
View, Internet Options,
choose the Connectionfolder, and check the
Proxy server box, then choose the
Advanced option. In there, fill
in the name of the proxy as proxy1.turnet.net.tr
and the Port as 8080 .Use the same proxy server
for all protocols.
IBM Webxplorer
Configure, Servers
Select box Enable Proxy? and set Proxy gateway to
proxy1.turnet.net.tr:8080
Lynx
-AWWWWWW, who uses Lynx ANYMORE????Anyway, Set environment
variableshttp_proxy,
ftp_proxy, gopher_proxy
andchoose the gopher_proxy to
proxy1.turnet.net.tr:8080
1.TEST the proxy you are going to use by going to my
proxy checkers list and 2. CHANGE the proxy you are using weekly!...
To set up your web browser follow the intructions below.
You need to replace web-cache.any-proxy.domain and #### with the proxy
and its port that you want to use.

If you are using Netscape Communicator(Navigator)
version 1, 2 or 4.x, set your proxies for the connections you wish to use
to be web-cache.any-proxy.domainon port #### as follows:

Choose the Options menu on your web browser.

Proxies.

Check "Manual Proxy Configuration"

Tick Connect through a proxy server

Click the Settings Button

"Address" text box.

Enter "####" in the "Port" text box.
If you are using Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0x
Take the Following Steps

Choose the Tools menu

Select
Internet Options.

Select
Connections.
-
Select LAN Settings
-
Check "Use a proxy server"
-
Enter "http://www.any-proxy.domain" in the
"Address" text box.

Enter "####" in the "Port" text box.
If you are using Web Explorer Vn 1.2 in OS/2 Vn

Open WebExplorer and go to the Configure menu

Goto the
Servers on the menus
-
Under
Proxy Gateway enter http://web-cache.any-proxy.domain:####/

The enable proxy box will tick itself.

Close the config box and it then it all seems to work as expected for OS/2
If you are using Lynx v .7 for OS/2

Locate the file lynx.cfg in your ETC directory, and search for the word
"proxy". Change the next few lines to read:
